Administrative districts were created to fulfil the tasks of the state administration outside the seat of the organs of the state administration. By the Decree on Administrative Districts, the Government of the Republic of Serbia established administrative districts and determined their name, area and headquarters.
The administrative district of Zlatibor was formed for the territory of the municipalities of Arilje, Bajina Bašta, Kosjerić, Nova Varoš, Požega, Priboj, Prijepolje, Sjenica, Užice and Čajetina, with headquarters in Užice.
