An administrative district has a head of district. Head of the administrative district:
coordinates the work of the regional district units of the state administrative organs
supervises the implementation of directives and instructions issued to the regional district units of the state administration organs
supervises the implementation of the work plans of the regional district units of the state administration organs and ensures the conditions for their work
supervises the work of employees in regional district units of state administrative organs and proposes to the head of the state organ the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against them
cooperates with regional units of state administrative organs performing state administration tasks in the territory of the administrative district and trained for an area larger or smaller than the territory of the administrative district
cooperates with municipalities and cities to improve the work of regional district units of state administration bodies and regional units of state administration bodies performing state administration tasks on the territory of the administrative district and trained for an area larger or smaller than the territory of the administrative district
The head of the administrative district shall be responsible for his or her work to the Minister for State Administration and Local Self-Government and to the government.
The Head of the Administrative District is appointed by the Government on the proposal of the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government for a period of four years in accordance with the Civil Servants Act.
The Head of the Zlatibor Administrative District is Desimir Popović, appointed by Government Decision RS 24 No. 119-2334/2022 of March 17th, 2022.
