The council of the administrative district harmonises the relations between the county regional units of the state administrative organs and the municipalities and towns from the territory of the administrative district and makes proposals for improving the work of the administrative district and the county and other regional units that the state administrative organs have in the territory of the administrative district.
The council of the administrative district consists of the district administrator and the presidents of the municipalities and mayors of the cities from the territory of the administrative district.
The district administrator is obliged to forward the conclusion containing all the proposals of the council of the administrative district to the minister responsible for administrative affairs and the heads of the state administrative bodies having regional units on the territory of the administrative district.
The council of the administrative district has a secretary appointed by the council from among the civil servants in the professional service of the administrative district.
The scope and manner of work and adoption of acts of the Council of the Zlatibor Administrative District are regulated by the Regulation on the manner of work of the Council of the Administrative District adopted by the Government of the RS (“Official Gazette of the RS” No. 15/2006) and the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the Zlatibor Administrative District adopted at the meeting of the Council on June 1st, 2010.
The Zlatibor Administrative District Council has 11 members and a secretary. These are the head of the Zlatibor administrative district, the mayor of the town of Užice and the chairmen of the municipalities of Arilje, Bajina Bašta, Kosjerić, Nova Varoš, Požega, Priboj, Prijepolje, Sjenica and Čajetina, as well as the secretary of the Council.
The Council decides on matters within its competence at meetings convened and chaired by the Head of the Administrative District at least once every two months. The head of the administrative district is obliged to submit a report on the work of the Council to the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government at least once a year.
