Mihajlović: A healthier place for children to grow up in Bajina Bašta

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, prof. Zorana Mihajlović, Ph.D., said in Bajina Bašta, where she visited the reconstructed pre-school institution, that 600 children in this kindergarten will receive a better and healthier place to stay, as well as that energy efficiency is one of the priorities and a national project that will contribute to the reduction of energy consumption , reduce carbon dioxide emissions and bring savings.

“Maybe Bajina Bašta is a small municipality, if we look at the number of inhabitants, but it is also a valuable working municipality that has been working intensively with the Ministry on various projects for the last two years. This kindergarten is an example of how the state and local governments work together for the welfare of citizens. Here, a space has now been created for children, which will allow them to spend their time better and not only will there be less energy consumption, but also the bills for the municipality will be lower and at the same time the emission of carbon dioxide will be lower. In addition to new windows, a roof and insulation, solar panels were installed that will heat water for the kitchen, and this kindergarten is an example of what we want to do through the subsidies we provide for both public buildings and households,” said Mihajlović.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the state has decided to make improving energy efficiency one of its priorities and that building energy capacity is just as important.

“We consume four times more energy than neighboring countries and, taking into account all the projects concerning the improvement of energy efficiency in public buildings and for households, which are worth close to 500 million euros, we can save production in three, three and a half years one TPP and reduce CO2 emissions by more than 100,000 tons, not to mention the financial benefit,” she said.

Rada Lazić, director of the “Neven” kindergarten, said that the kindergarten started operating in 1977 and that since then there has been no serious reconstruction and that without the support of the Ministry the works would not have been completed, as well as that the savings in consumption will be large.

“We have long-term cooperation with the Ministry, not only when it comes to this project, for which the Ministry gave 16.5 million, and about eight million to municipalities, but also for all other projects related to the improvement of energy efficiency.” For our municipality, 34 million in total, half of which was provided by the municipality and the Ministry, is not small, and it will be enough for about 160 households that want to participate in the project,” said Vesna Đurić, president of the municipality of Bajina Bašta.

Desimir Popović, the head of the Zlatibor district, said that eight out of 10 municipalities participate in the energy efficiency program, that the projects are worth about 260 million dinars, and the savings are about 60 million dinars at the district level, and invited all local governments in the Zlatibor district to apply. on subsequent calls.
