The strategic development advantage of this area is in programs in the field of environmental protection as an area of wider importance for recreational and tourist activities, water supply and production of organic food of known and protected geographical origin, with the application of the highest ecological standards.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Until now, the great opportunities for using the hydrographic potential have been insufficiently used, both for better water supply to the population not only in this area, but also for energy purposes. There are five hydropower plants in the district: Bajina Ba\u0161ta, Uvac, Kokin Brod, Potpe\u0107 and Bistrica and one reversible Bajina Ba\u0161ta, all in the system of Drina-Lim hydropower plants.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The most important natural entities that have been protected so far are:<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>Tara National Park;<\/li><li>three nature parks: \u0160argan &#8211; Morka Gora, Zlatibor and Golija (one part in the Zlatibor administrative district);<\/li><li>eleven special and strict nature reserves: Pe\u0161tersko polje, Zelenika (Jelova Gora), Iznad Tatalija (Jelova Gora), Tesne Jaruga (Jelova Gora), gorge of the Mile\u0161evka river, Gutavica, Paljevine, Uvac, \u010cala\u010dki potok, Velika ple\u0107 &#8211; Vra\u017eji vir and Ravni\u0161ta;<\/li><li>three landscapes of exceptional qualities: Ozren &#8211; Jadovnik, Kamena Gora and Ivlje forest park on Zlatar;<\/li><li>fourteen monuments of nature: botanical &#8211; Black pine (Hisard\u017eik, Prijepolje), lu\u017enjak oak (group of 5 trees Draganovac, Po\u017eega, tree in Ljutica, Po\u017eega, tree in Beli vode, Po\u017eega and tree in Visibaba, Po\u017eega), cer oak (Po\u010de\u010da, Po\u017eega), Kloko\u010devac (Kosjeri\u0107); munika (Seni\u0161te, Nova Varo\u0161), mecja leska (Svetog Sava Square and Majdanska Street, U\u017eice); geological &#8211; Bukovik cave (Nova Varo\u0161), Potpe\u0107ka cave (U\u017eice) and Stopi\u0107a cave (\u010cajetina); Sopotnica waterfalls (Prijepolje).<\/li><li>Pe\u0161tersko polje is under international protection, based on its inclusion in the Ramsar list. The definition of the status, spatial scope and protection regime for the gorges of Djetinje, Zaovina, Zlatar, Giljeva, and the valley of Mali Rzava is being prepared. Also in preparation is a proposal for acquiring international protection status for Uvac and Golija, and for the EMERALD network cluster of protected areas: Tara &#8211; Zaovine &#8211; Mokra Gora &#8211; Zlatibor; Ozren &#8211; Jadovnik, Giljeva, Pe\u0161tersko polje and Pe\u0161terska plateau.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In addition to natural beauty and riches, numerous cultural and historical assets and entities are under the protection of the state:<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>74 cultural monuments of which 4 medieval towns, 11 monasteries, 16 churches, 7 log cabin churches, 2 khans, Sultan-Valida mosque in Sjenica, Spasojevi\u0107a tower in Sjenica, 2 fountains, partisan hospital in Prijepolje, Old hydropower plant in U\u017eice, moats, bridge in Uvac, buildings, houses, villas, school in Kremni, memorial ossuary in Priboj;<\/li><li>3 spatial cultural-historical units (the center of the village of Godovik, Po\u017eega, the Old Bazaar of Bajina Ba\u0161ta and the unit in Gornja Dobrinja, Po\u017eega);<\/li><li>16 archaeological sites (in the area of Po\u017eega, Bajina Ba\u0161ta, Prijepolje, Sjenica and Kosjeri\u0107) and the famous memorial complex &#8220;Bo\u0161ko Buha&#8221; in Jabuca, Prijepolje.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-16 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-05022c0\" data-id=\"05022c0\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Of the available natural potentials, hydrographic wealth, agricultural potential and forest wealth are the most important.
